"Gabriele's chutzpah in reinventing a much-loved novel brings considerable risk, but the results are satisfying, both as metafiction and as a sharp exercise in psychological suspense." —The Guardian (UK)"A creepy, atmospheric homage to Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca. . . . Gabriele keeps the tension high up to the surprising and satisfying final twist. Du Maurier fans will be pleased." —Publishers Weekly"It's as beautifully written as it is (re)plotted and the updating of the characters is superb. Fabulous—and not just for Rebecca fans." —The Daily Mail (UK)"This update to Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca . . . offers a compelling, twisty feminist tale. . . . Pungent, pacy, familiar, yet with its own surprises." —The Times (UK)"Spellbinding and eerie. . . . A riveting, breathtaking page-turner." —Woman's World
“Tempting Faith DiNapoli represents a thin shaft of light, poking through the gray clouds, illuminating a promising new literary path. Thank God.” — The Toronto Star“This book is innocently impious, purely vulgar, harmlessly violent, blamelessly profane, profanely spiritual, unambiguously funny and unabashedly unique. It explodes with the kind of raw, bawdy, chaotic, intemperate life force rarely found in Canadian literature.” — Hamilton Spectator

“One of the best, this trilogy becomes my new baseline for excellence…””…my new standard. I enjoyed these books that much! Why? Women helping women, women supporting women, role model behaviors. Sex for the sake of feel good sex, women learning to feel good about themselves for who they are, be who they are with none of society's ‘shoulds’. And the men are real enough to be every woman's dream (except for one bad one). I will read these books again and again. L. Marie Adeline is an outstanding writer who brings her characters to life and love. It is my fantasy to be friends with them all, the women and the men…excellent!”
“In the tradition of Jennifer Weiner and Melissa Bank, The Almost Archer Sisters is a refreshingly honest portrait of sisterhood, motherhood, and female mayhem in its many states of grievance, grace, and forgiveness.”
This is what it feels like when you’re trying to figure out your current book (2025). Right now I’m 80 pages in and I’m in the knots stage. It’s a post-apocalyptic tale of three middle aged women trying to survive on a hidden compound, WHO WERE DOING JUST FINE, until the arrival of a mysterious man. It’s set in Harrow, Ontario. There’s murder. It’s also funny.
